Maniacal Media first hit the screen in late 2005 with a short animation which won Chris Ciemcioch, Tim Stewart and Peter McCunnie the special award at the German Goethe Institute film festival and from this it launched Chris and Tim in forming a media company. Long time friend Ryan Barritt soon joined and shortly after Ashleigh Cotter was also welcomed into the group.
With the team assembled no work really began until one night Chris, Tim and Ryan met up in order to start work on the next German short animation, but instead they were side-tracked and made a song, ‘SOAP Live’, from this song days later they spawned the idea of making a video to go along with it. Using CBS’s office they shot the video clip in June. It only took them till 4 in the morning to finish the shooting. After a few weeks editing the clip at school, it was finally finished and then it all began.
With success of ‘SOAP’ and ‘Blue Day’ Maniacal Media started planning more videos. In November Maniacal Media was offered a screening at the local Cinema. They worked an excess amount of hours (at least 100 hours in a week) and eventually showed their collection of works to their fans on December 18th.
Maniacal Media have been offered another screening in July and are currently preparing for this event. Also Bert Dean has joined the ranks of Maniacal Media.
